Fifteen And A Half Months

Happy Thanksgiving, Family and Friends!
We've had a good two weeks around here. I am over that nasty cold and finally have my appetite back. It has also warmed up a bit so we have enjoyed time outside, playing in the leaves and at the playground. Recently, we hosted our Play Group - it was fun to have my friends over to our house and to get to play with them on my turf.
Last time I reported my first molar coming in.  Well, that bottom one is almost all the way in and my top two have broken through the gums and are making their way in.  Mommy says it looks kind of funny because I still only have two front teeth on the bottom - as opposed to the four front teeth on top.

New things I can do:
Last weekend, Mommy and I met NaiNai at McDonalds for lunch.  This one has a nice playground with a small slide for toddlers.  Mommy helped me a few times to go up the three stairs, turn around, sit down, and then slide down the slide.  Well, then she let me go and I did it ALL BY MYSELF. I am such a BIG girl!
It is also to be noted that I can take bites out of a hamburger like a BIG girl. I ate half of a double cheeseburger by myself. Mommy and Daddy were shocked!  But, I was really hungry and enjoyed watching them smile as I took big bites out of the burger.
This week Mommy also gave me my first little fork and spoon. And, after some direction, I was able to feed myself a little bit with the fork (see video below).
I think I shared that a few weeks ago I choked a bit while eating an apple that Mommy had cut into small pieces for me. So, Mommy has been avoiding feeding them to me (I only get them in the form of applesauce).  Well, the other day I found an apple that Mommy or Daddy left sitting on the coffee table. When Mommy turned and saw me, I was taking a bite out of the whole thing. She sat back to watch to see what I would do (thinking I wouldn't like the peeling and just stop - and to snap a few photos).  Boy was she shocked when I kept taking bites, chewing it up, and on for some more. I guess these new teeth make all the difference. Mommy did have to help me finish it because it was much too big for me.

I want that camera or I'm gonna get mad and cry and then bite myself:

Mommy left an apple on the coffee table and next thing she knew, I was eating it :)

Sometimes I like to hit myself in the head (Mommy and Daddy still cannot figure this one out)

I love frozen grapes, cut up into pieces:

Fifteen Months

Whew - I am tired.

I am actually sleeping right now (taking my afternoon nap) so that Mommy could type this for me.
This time change thing and having a bad cold has me all confused.  But, Mommy is working hard to help me get back on schedule.  You see, I've had a runny nose/cough for about a week now.  Last week, I even had a fever for a couple of days, but that is gone and yesterday at my 15-month check-up, the kid-doctor (whom I don't care for too much - especially when he tries to look in my ears) said that I don't have an infection.  I checked in at 31" (70th percentile), 21lbs 4.5 oz (50th percentile), and head circumference in the 98th percentile (Must be from my Daddy's BIG brain).
The last two Saturdays Mommy has dressed me up in UGA attire to cheer on her favorite team, the UGA Bulldogs.  She says that my cheer outfit is the reason they have won.
Last Tuesday, Mommy and I went to our PlayGroup Halloween Party.  We both dressed as pandas (Mommy bought my costume and made her own - for which she won a prize :).  But, that was the day that my nasty cold took over - and I did not enjoy this holiday too much.  Mommy and Daddy decided not to take me out trick-or-treating since I was feeling so crummy, so we just gave out candy at our front door.
The highlight of this last week has been having Daddy at home.  He has taken some time off of work, and I have LOVED getting more time with him.
Other BIG news: my first molar has broken through my bottom gums (thankfully, Mommy has learned that I like to eat cut-up frozen grapes and that seems to help a bit).  I LOVE books (as you will see in the pictures below). I especially LOVE to make the noise of an elephant and dolphin (as seen in "My Daddy Loves Me", say "YEAH!" with Noah in my "Noah" book, knock on the book when reading "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?", and find the dogs, cats, and ducks in all my books. :)
