Nineteen Months

Sorry there was no 18.5 month post.  Mommy has been without a computer for a while - since she left her Dell laptop on the coffee table with a can of diet coke next to it.  I guess my accidentally knocking the can over had something to do with it no longer working.  Mommy says she has learned to be more careful about what/where she leaves things laying around.

This past month has been so fun.  I helped Mommy make Valentine cards for our family (photos below).  My Ye-Ye (Daddy's Dad) came for a visit.  I had such a blast getting to know him - and playing Peek-A-Boo with him.  We hosted PlayGroup with around 10 Mommies and 15 kiddos. I am getting taller and can reach all sorts of things - even the top drawer of some cabinets.  My favorite new food is mini marshmallows (I discovered them one day when the bag fell off of a shelf in the pantry.)  Unfortunately Mommy will only let me have 3 a day.

My favorite new word is: "Uh-oh!"  It is especially fun to use as I throw things on the ground and then exclaim, "Uh-Oh!"

Loads of photos since it's a whole month's worth:

Side table drawer is a great place for my little furry friends

Most pictures I take are of Mommy's knees -
I actually got her silly face in this one

I got a new bookshelf so I now have access to my all my books -
and I LOVE it!!!

It doesn't take long to get all the books
off the shelf

I LOVE reading with my Daddy!

Not feeling well so I'm cuddling with Mommy

FUN times with my Ye-Ye (Daddy's Daddy)

I used to HATE (be really afraid of) this stuffed bulldog -
NOW it is one of my favorites

And a few videos too:

Mommy wanted to show that although I am a sweet angel 95% of the time, I can also throw quite a fit:

Eighteen Months

BEWARE - Extreme Cuteness!!!  You may need to SIT DOWN for this update :)

WOW- I am now one-and-a-half.  Mommy says that means I am now a big girl and can learn to do lots of new things: She is teaching me to help put up my toys at the end of the day. I am not supposed to cry and fuss much now that I am a big girl. I get to help stir things when Mommy is cooking. And, I like to help carry in the groceries from the car.

It also means I am becoming more independent - I want to pick out what books we read. I sometimes have a say about what clothes/shoes I want to wear. I think I am big enough to choose what I will eat/not eat - but Mommy still makes me eat my veggies even when I protest.

Today at church, the nursery workers told Mommy what a JOY I am in the nursery.  They said that I help the new kids- showing them how things work. And that I help clean up the toys when it is time to go home. This put a HUGE  smile on Mommy's face.

Mommy and Daddy say that I seem to be learning new words every few days. Here is a list of my vocabulary:
Dog (always said as "dog-dog"), Ball, Cracker, Ice-cream, Cereal, Cheese, Apple, Juice, Shoes, Noah, Yeah, Elmo, Book, Pooh, Blue (for blueberry- my favorite fruit), Mama, Dada, NaiNai, Nana, and Thank You.

Other Tidbits about me at 18 months:
- I have 12 teeth - just waiting for the incisors and 2nd molars and I'll be all done.
- I LOVE looking out the window each morning to see if the neighbors' dog is in the yard and watching him play. (Mommy was relieved the other day when she asked me if I wanted a dog-dog, and I shook my head NO).
- I LOVE books, especially ones with animals or ones that make noise (and especially the ones that make animal noises:)
- I am much more social now and don't mind strangers as much (except the guy that comes by to clean up the table at Cici's pizza - I try to jump in Mommy's lap each time he makes his rounds).
- I am a pretty good sleeper. I've adjusted well to only one nap. And, even if I wake up early in the morning, I am OK to just play in my crib until Mommy or Daddy come to get me at 7am.
- I LOVE to watch the Fisher Price Little People videos.  Mommy has to limit me to only one 30 minute session a day (b/c she thinks I could sit and watch it all day if she would let me).

Preview of the cuteness:

This cuteness keeps Mommy & Daddy laughing:

I think I will just relax here and read while Daddy checks out at the book store:

I love wearing Mommy's house slippers:

Usually I HATE wearing a hat, but this day I put it on and did not want to take it off:

Watching TV with Daddy - he usually falls asleep
Mommy decided to see if my hair would fit into pig tails.
