Forty-Six Weeks Old

A recap of my 46th week:
It was really, really hot here (in the 90s) at the beginning of the week.  So, mommy thought it a good idea to blow up this inflatable pool she had bought for me.  After she got it inflated, she put me in a swimmy diaper, put some sunscreen on me, got herself in a swimsuit (so she could join me), filled up the pool with water - only to discover that the water was REALLY cold and I did NOT like it one bit.  Didn't even want to put my feet in it.  So, we ditched that idea and went upstairs and got in the tub together.  This was much better!
Later in the week it cooled off a  bit (in the 80s), so we spent a few afternoons at a nearby park.  I enjoy riding in the stroller while Mommy gets a bit of exercise.  And, then I really like getting to play in the swing.  Everybody around kept smiling as I would roar with laughter.  Everyone says I am SUPER cute!
On Thursday, we took NaiNai to McDonalds for lunch.  And, to Mommy's chagrin, NaiNai fed me my first McD's french fries.  I really liked them, but Mommy kept making me eat more fresh fruit instead of more fries.
I have a secret.  On Friday, Mommy and I were playing in the downstairs bedroom that is now my playroom (b/c there is no bed in there so I have tons of floor space).  I was standing, holding on to this crate of videos.  Mommy had to run to the bathroom.  And, when she came back, I was no longer standing next to the crate but now standing, holding on to my Disney toy.  Mommy has no clue how I got from one to the other - and I am not telling her. :)
Daddy has had to work a lot this week, but I love getting to spend time with him in the mornings before he goes to work.  And, it was great to spend the whole day with him on Saturday.
Mommy had a huge accomplishment this week.  Soon after I was born, she began reading through the Bible on her i-touch as I would breastfeed.  Well, she completed the entire Bible this week.  This is exciting to me too because I hope it means that she will impart her love of the Word of God to me as I grow up.
And, my BIG accomplishment this week has been learning to walk using my little walker.  I tried it out a few weeks ago but didn't like it at all.  Well, the last few days, I have taken to it - and now there is no stopping me.  Check out the videos below of me taking off.

Enjoy all these pictures. We've had a fun week and took lots of pictures!

Forty-Five Weeks Old

My 45th week has been pretty good.
On Tuesday afternoon, we met my friend Claudia and her mommy at a nearby park.  It was so much fun to be outside and play together AND to swing together (photos below).  On Wednesday, we got to spend a bit of time with Mommy's friend, Robyn, who was in Wheaton for a conference.  She even gave me her toy from her McDonald's Happy Meal. :)
We've also had fun getting a few things together for Daddy for Father's Day - Mommy finally printed up some pictures of me for him to have at work (b/c he misses me so much during the day:).  We also got him a new video game and tried to get him a ladder but Mommy couldn't figure out how to fit it in the CR-V.
I am definitely my Mommy's daughter -- I really like cherries.  Of course, Mommy has to help me with the peeling and the pit but I like all the rest.  Her hands end up quite red after peeling a small cherry - but she says I am worth it.  I also liked some black beans that Mommy put in a soup this week and had my first fresh peach. :)

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy in the world and to the best Poppy in the world too!!

I am always on the move these days

Forty-Four Weeks Old

I had a 10-month birthday this past week.  That means that very soon I will be a big one year old.  My how time is flying by.

Some of the new stuff from this week:
Well, I really like to climb stairs these days.  I'll hold on to Mommy's or Daddy's hands like when I am walking - then I'll lift my leg up really, really high to the next stair - and whoever is holding me will help me pull the rest of my body up to that stair.  And then I just keep going up and up.  Daddy says this is really impressive - proportionally, it would be like him climbing steps that are 3 or 4 feet tall.  Hopefully, they can get it on video for you next week.  It is quite fun.
For an early Father's Day gift, we got Daddy a waffle maker (b/c he had a waffle for breakfast at a hotel last year and really liked it).  So, Mommy made him waffles on Saturday morning.  And, they shared with me (without the syrup though b/c Mommy said that stuff wasn't good for me).  I really liked this - especially when Mommy tore it into pieces and let me feed myself.  You see, my pincer grasp (grabbing things between my thumb and first finger) is getting really good these days.  I am quite the pro at feeding myself Cheerios - and now waffles. :)
My new syllable for the week is "ba" - so I like to say "ba ba ba".  So, I now can say "da", "ma", "na", "ba". That's the order I learned them - and I sometimes say something that sounds a bit like "ra" :)

Mommy and Daddy love all my facial expressions. So, here are a few to share with you:
Notice my great "bed head" after an afternoon nap :)

And some fun sounds too:

Forty-Three Weeks Old

Another fun week in the Lee household.
On Memorial Day, we had some friends over for the afternoon, so it was really fun to get to play with some other kids.  And, it was fun for Daddy and Mommy to get good time with their friends, too.
On Wednesday, Mommy and I met some new friends, Brenda and two of her kids (from our new church), at a nearby park.  We had a nice little picnic in the shade.  Only thing was that Mommy didn't realize that although it was cool out, the sun was shining bright, so she got a little sunburned.  She was super thankful that I did not get burned too.
On Saturday, Uncle Charlie and Cousin Parker came to visit for the day from Wisconsin.  Parker is just a few weeks younger than me, so we are gonna be big friends and play buddies as we grow older.
Not much else going on around here.  I continue to grow and be a HUGE blessing to Daddy and Mommy.  They remind me often that I am a GIFT FROM GOD!
