Seventeen And A Half Months

Brrrr -- It's cold outside.  I think the high for today is 11 degrees.  Good thing Mommy and Daddy are keeping me inside our warm home.
We've done a lot of that this week because Mommy and I have been under the  weather.  Mommy got what she first thought was food-poisoning last Wednesday (b/c it was going in both directions -- oooh yucky!!!).  NaiNai came over on Thursday morning to play with me since Mommy wasn't feeling too good. We had a play date with the Sakaguchis and Volands on Thursday afternoon (which Mommy kept b/c she thought it was just food poisoning - sure hope we didn't get anyone else sick).  Mommy was feeling a bit better by Friday afternoon.  Then when I came down with the same thing on Saturday, Mommy realized it was probably a tummy-bug.   So, I am eating lots of bland foods the last few days and Daddy says to just focus on keeping me hydrated.  Especially since we know that with Mommy it only lasted a few days.
Although my tummy isn't too good, I am still in good spirits - laughing and playing.  I especially like that Mommy and Daddy let me watch a bit more of  "Little People" on the tv.  There are some perks to not feeling well. :)
Also - Daddy hurt his back last week. I hope that he feels better soon because I miss him throwing me up in the air and catching me.  But, even though he's in pain, he still gets down on the floor to play with me -- I have the BEST daddy!!!

(UPDATE:  Mommy forgot to mention one HUGE piece of news for the last two weeks.  I have now officially dropped my morning nap and am taking just one nap a day.  I am growing up and becoming such a BIG GIRL!! :)

Not too many photos but enjoy the few we do have.  I hope we are all on the mend and have more fun stories to share next time! :)

Enjoying some lazy time on the couch since we're not feeling well

Seventeen Months

So much has happened in the last month:
- I've had numerous colds that range from a runny nose, sneezing, coughing, difficulty sleeping, and I have another one now.  I even shared them with Daddy and Mommy at different times.
- I loved getting to see my Georgia family for Christmas - but Mommy was really bad and did not take any pictures.  Some of my highlights: afternoon walks outside with Poppee, playing with some of my new Fisher Price animals, giving Nana high-fives, my big new stuffed doggy from Auntie Celeste, and family dinners with everyone (Mommy loved the shrimp at BJ's in Darien - hmm - nothing like fresh seafood).
- I did pretty good on the 17-hour drive each way.  It was fun to get to see some of Mommy's friends along the way (the Purifoys in Nashville, the Kerns in Atlanta, and the Hollands near Charleston).  And, I enjoyed getting to run around and use my legs at several rest areas.
- I now know the sounds of so many animals - cat, monkey, fish, elephant, snake, lion, tiger, sheep, goat, horse, dog, possum, cow, dolphin, owl, duck, and can say "YEAH" with Noah (I can call him by name too) because the flood has ended. :)

Fun pictures of this past month:
I LOVE books!!

So much FUN playing with the Purifoy girls!

Fun to meet the Hollands
You gotta be fast with that camera, because I really want to hold it and play with it:

Fun at the apartment where we stayed on Jekyll Island:

Mommy loves that I am finally getting a little bit ticklish

This is an old pillow case that Mommy has had for many, many years
- it has traveled around the world with her

Mommy needs to work on her camera skills -
but the shot makes her laugh

Sixteen Months

I cannot believe it is December.  And, Mommy & Daddy cannot  believe that I am already 16 months old - they keep trying to slow down time but they haven't figured out how to do it yet.
I now  have all 4 molars.  This means that I get to try to eat all sorts of new things.  I still don't like raw veggies, so Mommy is still steaming those for me.  Mommy is thankful that I am such a good eater.  And, I really LOVE fruit.  My newest favorites are oranges and blackberries.  If I am really sweet, Mommy will even peel the little Mandarin Oranges (cuties) for me.  This is a labor of love because I sometimes choke on the inside skin, so she not only peels off the outside skin, she then has to peel each individual piece - which is no small task with a little mandarin orange.  I know she loves me when I get to munch on these.  I like the big oranges too but the little ones are so much sweeter and so much more fun to watch Mommy try to peel. :)

I continue to learn lots of new things.  This week I showed Daddy how I can stack rings on a pole (you know - those colorful toys with lots of rings that stack around the pole).  Daddy didn't know I could do this (because just last week I would get frustrated and give up, moving on to another toy).  So, I surprised him one morning this week when I stacked all of them on the pole.
I also got a new toy. Mommy was on nursery duty at church a few weeks ago and noticed that I enjoyed playing with this 3in1 bike toy.  Later that day, she found one on Craigslist and we went and picked it up and cleaned it all up for me.  I am enjoying learning all that it can do.

My other favorite thing is for Daddy to throw me up in the air and catch me.  I just giggle with laughter.  And, then when he puts me down, I pull on his pants until he picks me up to do it again.  Before they know it, I will be saying, "Again, Daddy, Again!"  Here's hoping Daddy's shoulder doesn't give out anytime soon.
