Eight Weeks Old

WOW! My mommy and daddy can hardly believe that I've been with them for 8 whole weeks.  It's been so much fun, and I can hardly wait to see what comes next.
As you'll see in my photos below, I'm growing up so much.  I can hold my own head up now - and I can push up on my arms when I'm on my belly.  Mommy says that means I'm gonna be turning over soon - and that she'll have to start being so much more careful where she puts me down.
This week was pretty fun.  These days I go to sleep after my 7pm feeding, only for mom to wake me up around 10pm to feed me one more time (she read it is called the "dream feed").  Then I sleep til around 4 - 5am  and then back to sleep until mom wakes me up around 7:30am to start a new day.  She's waiting for me to not wake up so early and sleep all the way until 7am, but I'm just not quite ready yet.
Also this week - Melanie (mom's friend from when they worked together in Vienna, Austria) came for a visit - and that was super fun.  And, I made my first trip to Olive Garden (one of mommy's favorite restaurants) to have lunch with mom's friends, Eury (and Caleb) & Carol.  I was sooo good that day - didn't cry even once in my car seat -- my mom was so happy.  And, on Friday, daddy didn't go in to work (b/c he was on call on Thursday night and he was up a lot - I even got to see him when I was up at 4:30am) so I had a lot of fun playing with him during the day and showing him all my new tricks.

OK - now for what you really want to see -- me in photos.

Be sure to take note of my daddy's bed head :)

Mommy put this in my hand - and I am holding on tight

My new favorite toy.  It makes great music - I especially like the drums.

Mommy and daddy laugh as I keep hitting myself in the head with this rattle

Look how strong I am  - holding myself up like this

My parents dressed me in warm clothes b/c we went outside to walk around
and do some shopping

One of my daddy's patients made me this cute hat

Seven Weeks Old

I've had a great week - I think my mom is starting to get the hang of my schedule - and I am doing less crying and more sleeping.  And, that is even with my mom now putting me in the bed for naps and not letting me just sleep in her arms.  She says I'm in "sleep training".  I just know that she's putting me down in the bed when I'm still awake - I cry for 5-10  minutes and then I take a great nap.  And, now mom has time to do a bit of cleaning or cooking (or taking a nap herself).
I'm also much happier when I am awake - and I'm even learning to make more noises - which really makes my mommy and daddy smile.
This week I enjoyed a play date with some friends and a morning at the church with friends.  Also, mom put me in my stroller and took me for a few walks in the neighborhood since the weather outside is so nice.

Here are a few photos and a video from my seventh week:
I sleep at night in a swaddle blanket (mom's friend got it for me).  It is supposed to help me from waking up in the night

Mommy says I look like an adorable caterpillar :)

Six Weeks Old

My 6th week included:
More eating & sleeping.  Mom and dad are figuring out that I don't like the late afternoon/early evening too much (I must cry a lot during this time -  They are hoping that I'll grow out of this phase soon).  Mom and I went to Oakbrook Mall one day to just walk around and enjoy being outside.  It's getting cooler here so I'm wearing long-sleeves, pants, and socks most days.  I took a few photos for my Nana's birthday (see below).  We had another play date with friends (again, more for mom than me as I sleep through most of it).  On Saturday, our family went to Naperville to walk around the River walk - there was even an arts festival that we walked through (again, I slept through most of it though).

My 5th Week

Fun things this week:
I wore this fun hat to church (see photo below). I had my first play date with the Parks and Yis (but I think this was more for mommy than for me). I dropped one of my middle of the night feedings (and my mom seems so very happy about this). Watching football with mom & dad -- mom likes college football (GO DAWGS!) & dad likes the NFL (GO BEARS!).
